About Metro Turf Sod Farm

Here is the dirt:


We have been growing a thriving, nutrient dense + healthy turf product for 18 years.

We grow a strong turf product for local installation, wholesale, landscape and Design companies in the Des Moines Metro area and surrounding communities.

Our product is harvested in Big rolls that are about 3 sq per roll for ease of installation for our professional installers. We work meticulously to provide a nutrient dense and strong turf product for your projects.

How we harvest


At Metro Turf LLC we have taken a different approach.

We work directly with sod installation and whole sale professionals. We do not work directly with local homeowners.

However, We are happy to help any homeowner connect with professional installation companies that utilize our turf.

We cut


We can cut the necessary product needed for your project to have ready to be trucked to your site. All sod rolls are 3 sq per roll. When we cut, we can provide the trucking or you can arrange trucking from our distribution area. When we cut, we utilize trucking partners in the Metro area to promote small businesses around us. We do not do our own in house trucking since there are so many valuable companies out there that we can support.

You cut


Many landscape/ distributor's have their own sod cutting equipment. We allow our professionals to bring and use their own equipment. When you select this option, you are responsible for all cutting, labor, staging and hauling. We will work out the logistics and staging with you to ensure that you have the resources available to help facilitate your project can be completed with our exceptional turf brand. You can use your own trucking or we can work to facilitate the necessary professionals to transport the harvest to your site. We work with you on all areas of this project to ensure complete satisfaction.

How we operate:


At Metro Turf, llc, it is our responsibility to grow the turf to be the top performing product for your project.  When you use us you can rest easy knowing that our turf is Kentucky Blue grass grown SPECIFICALLY for THIS Area.  It is grown to weather the drastic changes that we have been seeing in our climate.  When you use our turf you can rest easy knowing that the turf receives the proper nutrients to help it thrive.  We take a very hands on and methodical approach to feeding the turf to ensure the roots are strong, the product is beautiful and healthy.

If you are a whole sale company with your own sod cutting equipment, you are Not responsible for mowing or maintenance on the field. That is 100% our role.  When you set up a cutting schedule with us, that sod will be ready at all times for any quantity you want for your project.
